The Environmental Movement


Objectives for Students
- To interpret the factors that influenced and stories of those affected by the environmental movement.

Placement in Curriculum/Subject Areas - History, Social Studies, Science, and Economics.

Organization of Classes - small groups

Radio Activity - How were the interviewees involved in the environmental movement? What were their motivations?

Have students investigate local environmental projects using the newspaper and web sites.

Interview Activity - Interview people at the local recycling center, clean water organization, wetlands conservation area, etc.

Additional Activities -  Start a project of the students choice.

Examine environmental legislation on the county, state, and national level.

Assessment of Student Performance - Teacher judgement of classroom participation.
