                              The Impact of  Early Radio

Objectives for Students - To examine and interpret the experiences of persons who lived in the early days of radio.

Placement in Curriculum/Subject Areas - History, Social Studies, and Media Studies.

Radio Activity - Identify the technology, program content, and social aspects of early radio listeners.

Interview Activity -  Interview parents for their experiences. Project the next media source and its influences.

Additional Activities - Write a paragraph on your earliest memories of radio, television, film, and computers. What parallels can you draw with the early experiences of the storytellers? What has changed and remained constant in patterns of use? Content? How do multiple tvs, radios, and computers in the home influence daily use patterns?

Write a radio show in the old style and produce it.

Assessment of Student Performance - Teacher judgment of classroom participation.
