| Objectives for
Students - To identify the projects of the New
Deal Programs. Placement in Curriculum/Subject Areas - History, Social Studies and Civics Organization of Classes - small groups Materials Needed - Countdown To Millennium web site (www.frognet.net/countdown) Radio Activity - Have students identify the differences and similarities between the CCC and the WPA. What projects can be identified in the local area? Interview Activity - Interview someone who lived during the time period and either participated in the New Deal Projects or remembers others doing so. Additional Activities - Debate whether the WPA or CCC are needed now. Take a field trip to nearby CCC project or ask the class to map possible CCC projects along their buss routes. Assessment of Student Performance - Teacher judgment of classroom participation. |
