Alum Inducted into North Carolina Women’s Hall of Fame
Ohio University alum, Valeria Lynch Lee, received the honor of being one of four women to become 2009 inductees into the North Carolina Women’s Hall of Fame. Early in Lee’s career she managed one of the first small community public radio stations and is now seen as a leader in the delivery of public broadcasting. Lee is also recognized for her campaign for North Carolina Secretary of State, which is considered groundbreaking for an African-American woman. Lee continues to contribute to the state of North Carolina and is a member on the Board of Directors for more than 25 organizations.
