Digital Media Student Anthony Urso Receives Major Internship

Digital Media Major, Anthony Urso, will be heading to San Francisco this summer for an internship with LucasArts. LucasArts is a company founded by Star Wars’ creator George Lucas and has become one of the industries leading video game developers. Urso will be the first Ohio University student to receive this prestigious internship.

The application process of the internship was rigorous, and included two interviews. Urso hopes to someday work as a project manager for a company such as LucasArts. Urso’s title of “Project Management Intern” will allow him to gain valuable experience in a field he plans to pursue after college. Urso acknowledges that most of what he knows about video game developing is self-taught, and is excited to start interning with LucasArts to gain actual project experience. Urso also hope that during his 12-week internship that he will gain knowledge that goes beyond the technical aspect of developing, knowledge that can only be gained by actual project experience.

Not only has Urso found success with LucasArts, but he has also found success while being a student here at Ohio University. One accomplishment of Urso’s is becoming Vice President of OU Siggraph. An animation short film that Urso helped create took third place in this year’s 48 Hour Shoot-Out. Urso is also currently working on his senior capstone project. “Take the initiative, that’s what I did when I first got here [Ohio University]. Show that you’re motivated and passionate,” said Urso.
